Response to Jenn's Posting

Jenn’s posting from Friday brought to mind friends of mine, Gene and Rebecca. They too were going through the adoption processes just as Jenn and Kevin. In July, after many long years, they received their baby. They could not be prouder. When he is on the road, Gene cannot wait to get home to his wife and child. He speaks frequently of his daughter and with a gleam in his eye shows her picture on his PDA to everyone who knows him and Rebecca.

No doubt the anticipation and all the hoops through which they have jumped heightened their joy and the trill of holding their own child in their arms. Their celebrative joy and pride is greater than most first time parents. There is no doubt that Gene and Rebecca will be godly upright parents. I am also confident that they will protect and guide their daughter with greater intentionality than the average parent. God answered their prayers and awarded them for their endless patience. Those who know them rejoice with them and utter a prayer of thanksgiving for them and their daughter.

Evie and I will do the same for Jenn and Kevin when sometime in the future they hold and love the answer to their prayers and desires. May God’s grace be with them and guide them through every step.

I love to hear wonderful success stories of people finally getting a child after waiting for so long. There are so many children out there who have to endure abusive homes, and yet so many loving people who are unable to have children. Very sad.

It's interesting how tpoics come up frequently sometimes... A teacher friend of min is waiting to adopt... I was talking to Jim Curnow (Prof) and his daughter, Lisa and her husband are off to China to adopt...

All the best to Jennifer and Kevin - they will make amazing parents!
